About Me
Although I do not anticipate graduating until December 2009, I feel I have been able to gain priceless experience in the internships in which I have worked. I don't have a clear idea of what I want to do in my career other than I have learned I enjoy solving problems and turning bundles of data into useful information. By far my most memorable experience occured while working for Greens Creek Mine (previously owned by Rio Tinto) in Juneau Alaska. I was given the task of performing a failure analysis on a set of 4 discharge pumps. Despite a lack in understanding of what a centrifugal pump is or how it works or why it may be failing---- I studied pumps, observed their working conditions, recorded data, analyzed data, sought insight from others, and built conclusions accordingly.
The answer wasn't obvious nor clear cut but it was a solution. It was then that I knew what it "felt" like to solve a problem.
